TECH ROUND UP / 47 E struagua has a long experience in manufacturing wastewater treatment equipment, urban and industrial. As a veteran, the 40-year-old company has more than 400 references for “mechanical compact pretreatment”. And one of it is its pretreatment compact plant, COMBIPRO ® . The plant includes the pretreatment of the elimination of solids (screening or separation), grit elimination (grit removal) and elimination of grease (grease removal). The COMBIPRO ® installations allow treatments in a single equipment for flows up to 300 l/s (1080 m 3 /h). The wastewater is introduced via the entry of the equipment through a flange connected pipe. The solids contained in the liquid are trapped in the screen and during their extraction, a series of nozzles of great performance and power will wash to eliminate most of the existing organics substances. In the lower level of the screen, the compacting or dehydration of the screenings is carried out — with significant reduction of their volume — before being discharged into a container or plastic bag designed for such purpose. The liquid that travels through the screen enters a hopper to where, optimised by the introduction of air, the existing grit sediments are. A conveyor takes care of its dehydration and discharges it into the container designed for this purpose. In this same hopper, the process of the existing grease substances “flotation” is then carried out, and an appropriate device takes care of dehydrating them before discharging them into a container. The characteristics of COMBIPRO ® : • Completely enclosed structure • Screened solids washing • Extracted solids compacting or dehydration (screenings and sand) • Screen cleaning helix and transport without central axis, built in special steel of grate resistance and superficial hardness • Metallic carpentry in stainless steel Aisi 304 or by clients request stainless Aisi 316. Advantages of using COMBIPRO ® : • Complete pretreatment in a single unit, low investment and operation cost • Screened solids wash • Separate elimination of grit, grease and screenings • Secure performance and without design risks • Reduced operating and maintenance cost • No splashes or odours produced • Low installation and space expenses • Simple installation • Organic matter absence (or very low content) in the extracted solids *All images are credited to ESTRUAGUA The COMBIPRO ® installations allow treatments in a single equipment for flows up to 300 l/s (1080 m 3 /h)
